Information Overload is a Serious Problem & How to Defeat It?

Information Overload is a Serious Problem - How to Defeat It?

As it is, earning money online is hard but not impossible if you know what
you are doing. However, there is a huge information overload out there
on the Internet.
This is a serious problem and is quite distracting for all those persons who
look to do e-commerce on the Internet.

Making it even harder is the fact that we are bombarded with thousands of
information sources and new opportunities every day, which can be
distracting to say the least.
To stand out in all that clutter existing out there requires a fair amount of
special effort and expert guidance.
When it comes to defeating the Internet overload and making your website
a unique experience, web design professionals have developed special
tools to help accomplish this task while at the same time making it all
affordable.

A lot of things have been said about what constitutes a good website and
a great website. The principles of designing a business website remain
the same, irrespective of the size of your business.
Whether it is a small home business or whether it is a medium or
large-sized one, the underlying website designs do not differ very much.

All that you have to ensure is to take the assistance of web design people
that know their job in and out. Web designers are second to none in designing
a special and unique website for you at prices that are quite affordable for
you.

If you are engaged in online marketing and trying to learn effective methods
of generating traffic to your website or traffic to your affiliate website then I
am sure you have felt the paralyzing effect of information overload.

I have experienced 300 spams a day as well as 50 to 70 regular emails.

There seems to be ten thousand ways to beat pay-per-click companies,
all of which probably add to the PPL company's profits.
There are hundreds of marketing strategies, all claiming to have the key to
finding buyers. There are hundreds of advertising companies offering
everything from free classified's to solo emails.

I believe this mountain of information will cause many entrepreneurs to
become frustrated and disillusioned, as it would very hard to digest it all.

After all, making a choice from hundreds of similar programs is difficult
if not impossible.

In order to form an advertising strategy you must test each type of
advertising.
But how do you do this when there are hundreds of ezines and thousands
of websites offering classified and email advertising?

My advice is to join a well established company with a forum and extensive
online marketing material. Use the forum to communicate with other
members of that company and learn all you can about online marketing
before you spend advertising money.

In conclusion, it all boils down to the fact that to be successful, all you
have to do is find a product and then find people who want to buy it.

Every pitch made by every company trying to sell you their system is
offering you the same thing, a product and a way to find buyers.
Sometimes they just offer you a way to find buyers leaving the product
selection up to you.

My advice is to find a product or products that you like personally, create
an attractive ad or website, and then focus on finding an advertising media
that will allow you to reach people most likely to buy your product.

Keep in mind, you can have thousands of people view your ad and not buy.
Why? It's because they were the wrong people.

You must find a way to target your advertising to people most likely to want
and/or need your product.

What I personally found to be of great help is I joined an established company
with an extensive free training program in internet marketing.

With internet marketing, finding buyers is not the most important thing; but,
it's ninety-five percent (95%) of the ball game.

"No Search Engine Help! So How Do I Get Traffic?"

No Search Engine Help! So How Do I Get Traffic
By John Smalley

Marketing your site on the internet is a must, and while search engines are a great help in this matter, there are many other methods of getting your product or service greater exposure. Here we look at some of the more successful ways of creating traffic without the use of search engines.

Web Directories

There are many directories on the web, places where web sites advertise their wares for all visitors to see. This may seem like an old fashioned way of promoting your site, but it is a very useful and often lucrative tool in the race for traffic. With the number of directories available, it is worth seeking the most popular ones. A search for 'top ten directories' should bring up some potentially interesting sites.

Syndicate content

Many web sites use other people's content, either for ease of use or for economic reasons. It can be very useful to have your content placed on other popular websites. This must be done with a link to your site, however, or the method is wasted. But if you don't mind helping others by filling their site with content, you may find the rewards are significant. Because a link-back to your site is utilised, this should increase your traffic flow.

Look for well-known names, or popular brands, which want syndicated content, as association with established names can be a benefit.

Blogging

Among the most popular ways of getting traffic to a website is blogging, a method that has become something of a marketing phenomenon in recent years.

The beauty of blogging is many-fold, and not only does it add a more 'personal' touch to your site, but it is a proven method of increasing traffic. It is also very much 'real time', too, and enables you to keep everything updated quickly and easily, and at little cost.

There are a number of blogging services that will give you better access to the audience you are looking to attract. The latest figures for blogging show that the traffic levels they generate are growing all the time.

Not only is it vital to keep your blog up to date, but to keep up to date with other blogs in the industry that you operate in. This can give you a reliable indication of the market trends and new developments.

Advert networks

An important weapon in the marketing wars, advertising your site on those that rank higher than yours can be a simple and effective way of getting your name across. This way you are guaranteed exposure to more people than would normally approach your site, and with some very popular sites letting space for adverts it is a great way of increasing your traffic figures.

Again, look for high ranking and popular sites that have ad networks, and get on board early, while the space is affordable.

Press Releases and PR firms

Press releases have been around - in the print world - since year dot, and the on line version is a very effective way of publicizing your product, service or site.

Indeed, there are many outlets for Press Releases - a search will guide you in the right direction - and there are many organizations that will handle the writing and publication of PR for you. You can find these on news and business outlets across the web.

It is surprising how effective a well-orchestrated and devised PR campaign can be, and also how cost effective and affordable one is likely to be, also.

Other methods

The above are just a few of the useful methods of promoting your website and creating more traffic, but there are many more, too many to cover in any detail here.

You may want to look at developing podcasts, a relatively modern way of inviting traffic that is becoming more popular as a marketing tool. Many people and businesses swear by the word-of-mouth method of marketing that utilizes on line forums as a viable tool. Indeed, the latter can create quite a 'buzz' if the right forum is used, and generate more traffic than may previously have been thought possible.

There are, indeed, many ways of creating traffic other than by search engines, and the above should present a guide to where you need to begin.

"Blogging For Profits & Fun!"

"The Internet Blog!"
By
John F Smalley

As you decide on a social or business on line plan, you should be asking yourself this
crucial questions ...

What are the best tools being used by the most successful internet personality's on
the web?

One of the best Internet tools to really be successful is The Blog.

Thousands of companies and individuals, big and small, are now using blogs to
expand their social & business contacts and to warm up the cold market
known as The Internet.

Many individuals & home business owners are asking the same question!
"What the heck is a blog?"

A blog is a very clever medium that reads more like a diary than a newsletter".

An effective blog gives its readers a peek into the thought (and sometimes the life)
of the blog's author.

A blog usually includes combination's of text, images, links, videos and advertising.

Most blogs are generally text based and are part of a wider scope known as
social networking (MySpace, YouTube, etc.)

Most blogs are based on a particular subject or industry ... for instance there are
movie blogs, sports blogs, entertainment blogs, travel blogs, political blogs,
reality blogs, internet income blogs, and social blogs.

Many companies include their blog as a part of their main website.

Blogs can be personal or business related.

Business or corporate blogs can be used to go along with existing advertising,
provide low cost marketing options, and increase exposure in the marketplace.

Most effective business blogs have regular entries, ranging from several times a
week to several times a month.

Most of the entries are typically in reverse order, with the newest entries
appearing first.

The author (or blogger) shares his/her thoughts on topics that are usually of
importance to the particular industry (or social events) he/she is interested in.

A blog is an effective and cheap way to reach your targeted audience.

A well formatted and well written blog will increase your exposure for
three (3) primary reasons:

And for social contacts, they are a great method for your family & friends to
stay abust of what is happening in your life.

Until recently the majority of the business blogs have been credited to the higher ups
in corporations.

The challenge for most individuals, and internet marketers is they are not always
inspired authors.
Deciding on and writing a blog can be a serious undertaking, both getting started
and keeping it going.

A lot of the famous bloggers have many resources available to them, including ghost
writers and departments that manage the blogs, to assist them in writing and
maintaning their blogs.

This is not necessary, a blog whether for fun, family, information only, or
for profit can be made by the novice today.

There are numorus free blogging sites that welcome your notes, ads, pictures,
whatever you choose to put on the internet.

When you decide to blog, take a notepad and jot down anything that comes to mind.

Maybe you have just found a new love, had a new baby, got married, happy,
unhappy, thoughtful, excited about your new business.
You would be surprised at how many people would like to hear about it.

What ever you decide to put in your blog, just remember to update it with any new
happenings related to the information you started with.

Have Fun Writing and Maintaining Your Blog!

Feel free to add a comment or question.  I will be happy to answer all to the best of my ability.

How Will A Website Help My Business?

How Will A Website Help My Business?
By John F Smalley

A lot of small business owners who do not have a site keep asking this question—“How will a website help my business?” Before we start talking about the advantages of having a website for your business, it is important to make you aware about a very basic universal truth. Regardless of the advantages that you will get from having a website, a website has become as necessary as having your own phone and fax machine for a business. Having your own website has become a necessity that is as important as having your own office. That said, let us look at some of the main ways by which having a website will help your business:

A website establishes your presence as a serious business. All customers and clients expect businesses to have their own websites. If you do not have a website, you might be looked upon as being a non-professional and non-serious business that is not even interested in providing contact or business information.

A website is an extremely useful marketing tool. A website not only acts as your virtual office, it also helps your target customers in locating you and builds brand and product awareness that eventually helps in increasing sales. A website acts as your complete brochure and provides information about your company, products and services to all those who want to know. It is an extremely cheap way of advertising your products. Once your website is up and running, you can even give up on printing brochures and CDs and simply direct potential customers to your website.

A website helps you expand your market. Gone are the days when a market was a certain geographical area restricted to a town, city, state or country. Today, the whole world is your marketplace and one of the major advantages of having your website is that you will get to reach out to potential customers beyond national and international boundaries. Going online could give a great boost to your business, especially if you are selling products that have a market outside your immediate geographical area.

Having your own website helps you stay in touch with your customers. Most small businesses cannot afford to set up a toll free helpline. However, by setting up a well created website, you can avoid the need for such a thing altogether. By providing a ‘frequently asked questions’ section on your web site, you not only help your customers with their problems, you also become much more approachable to them. You can set up links that allow customers to offer feedback and report their problems. Having a live chat tool will help you get in touch instantly with your customers at a cost that is almost nil compared to setting up a help line.

A website creates a business image that is larger than life. An extremely large number of small businesses are based in home offices, garages and buildings that could be classified as being highly unimpressive to any customer. A major advantage of having your website is that it helps you build a facade that makes your company look established, professional and larger than it really is!
